Spring so far

J loves his mobile! He is not sleeping in his crib yet (I'm not ready so he's still in the pack n play in our room) but we have put him in it. He will lie and look at the mobile (on or off) for quite awhile- it's super helpful when we're making dinner or cleaning up.

He also really likes being naked...you can see how happy he is :)

Last weekend we drove to Cincinnati for a fellowship interview and J got to meet Anju, a friend from medical school who was also in our wedding.

I had to go back to work this week and, through a series of unfortunate scheduling, Del also was occupied all day. Luckily our friend Sarah agreed to watch him out of the goodness of her heart. Poor girl! She has a 7 month old and so she was pretty busy but somehow she was able to pull out the camera and take some cute shots of my little man!

Look at that smile! Already a flirt ;)

2 months old!

Jackson turned 2 months old yesterday! He has become quite the traveler in the last couple of weeks- he has now been to 3 states (Minnesota, North Carolina and Tennessee) and on 6 airplanes. He was good (of course) on all of the flights, though I think that yesterday's flights may have been his breaking point- he was pretty unhappy last night once we were home. He was very tired because he slept from ~8:30 pm until 4 am :) This is the 4th time he has slept through the night and made two nights in a row so maybe tonight will be a good night too.

He had his two month visit today. Here are his stats:
  • Weight: 6 kg or 13 lbs 4 oz (82nd percentile)
  • Height: 23 inches (66th percentile)
  • Head circumference: 42.2 cm (92nd percentile)

He is a very happy laid-back baby for the most part. He doesn't cry a lot but when he has reason to he really lets us have it. He's like Del in that he is very patient usually but if something sets him off (really dirty diaper, 2 month shots) he can go from 0 to 60 in a second! He has been smiling like crazy in the last week but I'm still not very good at capturing it on film. His vision has definitely improved in the last few days- he can recognize me from several feet away and smile :) He loves his mobiles and to swing.

He still needs to be swaddled to go to sleep at night but I typically find him in this position when he wakes up in the morning:

Here a few more pictures from our trip home:
