Del and I were lucky enough to go on the most amazing trip to the beach in May. We joined the Bergeron's and Anju at a house on the beach in Isle of Palms, SC, just outside Charleston. We spent our days playing on the beach and our nights eating fabulous Southern food, including some awesome seafood. If anyone is planning a trip there in the near future, contact me and I will give you a list of some great restaurants to try.
I was so glad to get to spend time with my girls, Jaclyn and Anju. I miss hanging out with them so much and can't wait for Bergeron-Harris-Singhal Extravaganza #2 coming in 2012!
We went kayaking one day at the Middleton Place plantation. We paddled down the Ashley River and through an old rice plantation. It was gorgeous!
We returned there later in the week for a wine tasting event. It was so relaxing to stroll around the gardens and try different wines. We all took the opportunity to do "senior pictures"

Del and I are already tired of being so far away from the beach....
My mom came and visited on Memorial Day weekend which was so fun! We ate at City Cafe, ran errands, went to the Farmer's Market, sat in my yard enjoying the beautiful weather, grilled out and at at Nosh in Lake City. It was a good time and I already miss her!
On Memorial Day, Del and I drove up to Duluth, MN to visit as we had never seen Lake Superior and heard great things about it. We walked around the city for awhile but unfortunately my camera battery died within about 2 minutes.
We drove on up the North Shore to Gooseberry Falls Park which is gorgeous! The falls are 3-tiered and from the top you have a view of Lake Superior, which looks like the ocean. We then walked out to the lakeshore which was even more breathtaking. There are big rocks everywhere on a beach that consisted mainly of small rocks. Where there is no beach, there are cliffs going straight down into the lake with pine trees lining them. We are already planning a trip to back! We ate at the Grand Superior Lodge on the way back- they are on the lakeshore and have some great looking cabins. That may be our 2011 getaway!
I'm on hospital service for the last month of my intern year which is less than optimal but I will survive it! I'm already tired and I am only one call in. But these are the things we go through in order to enjoy life later I suppose :)
Miss y'all!
